Although photographing gannets was my main goal in Helgoland, I was also keen to see seals and other birds in close island Dune.
A small ferry operates hourly (every 30 minutes during the peak hours), the ticket costs 5 euro. On the island you can see two species of seals - Grey Seal (Halichoerus grypus) and Common Seal (Phoca vitulina) and also a lot of various birds - Oystercatchers, Ringed Plovers, Common Eiders and many others.

At the beginning of May we visited Netherlands, it supposed to be a very first family vacation with our one-year old baby but anyway, I brought my camera as well. The goal was obviously to see fields of tulips and also some mills and the countryside generally.
Also, after a very very long thinking I decided not to bring the super telephoto lens and as a longest lens take just 300 mm.

I've read a lot about this island in the Northern Sea from various blog posts of photographers around the world. And finally, the beginning of the April looked to be a best time to visit this place.
